By omitting the usage of samples, the file size is just a tiny fraction of that offered by other virtual instruments, perfect for use on any modern laptop.

What makes the app superior to other virtual instruments is that the instruments are physically modeled and thus can simulate the playability and complex behavior of real acoustic instruments. It can be used both in standalone mode and as an instrument plug-in in VST, AAX, and AudioUnits hosts.

The instrument maker, also known by the name Joannes Ruckers, was one of two sons of Hans Ruckers who continued in the family craft. The physical model is based on a copy by Matthias Griewisch of a Hans Ruckers II le Jeune (1624). Comparable with what the Stradivarius is for the violin family, the name of Ruckers has a similar quality aspect for the harpsichords. Harpsichords by the Ruckers family are praised for their superb tone, thanks to the instrument maker's understanding of the harmonic aspects.
